Welcome to a new horizon

Frontier Pathology NHS Partnership is the joint pathology service of Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust (BSUH) and Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SASH) and operates laboratories in the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath and Crawley Hospital. We believe that the consolidation of pathology services supports the improvement of the quality and effectiveness of our services to our patients and other key stakeholders.

| Fresh Thinking in Diagnostics

Our name, Frontier, was chosen because it articulates the idea of gaining new ground – growing and expanding the business – and it captures our intent to be innovative, scan new horizons, think about pathology differently and to deliver pathology more creatively.

| Pathology at the Forefront of Healthcare Delivery

Frontier Pathology NHS Partnership's vision is to place pathology at the forefront of healthcare delivery and to bring added value to patients and users through strategic partnership, innovation and growth. For us, we believe that every one of the 11 million samples we receive in our laboratories is more than just a sample - it is a patient.

A key aim of Frontier Pathology is to keep the laboratory staff and clinical staff together because we believe this is critical to providing the highest quality pathology service for our users and patients and our clinical staff rely on the excellence of the laboratory to deliver and develop clinical services.

Continuous re-investment in our pathology service means we are able to offer new diagnostic technologies. As medicine is moving more and more towards personalised healthcare solutions such as genetic and molecular testing, research in these areas in collaboration with the BSUH Medical School and Universities is allowing Frontier Pathology to be at the cutting edge of science
